NEWS & UPDATES

April 8th, 2008 - At the end of this month, Cherry (1219 1st St SW), which has been our beautiful residence for the past year, is unfortunately being turned into a pub, and BASSIC will be without a home after running non-stop for almost 5 years. Since there is a lack of weekend venues for our type of club night, we will not be able to continue our weekly events in this city until this changes. We will continue to do special events whenever possible, and will continue to search for a new home, but for now, this is it! So come down to the last night of BASSIC and celebrate the past 5 years with us and all the amazing memories we’ve all shared. We’ve invited some of our past guests we’ve had over the years to play their favorite tracks for you, and will be featuring a visual stage and extra sound. This is going to be a night that will be talked about for years, so don’t miss it!

Aug 21st, 2007 - Alright!! New update!! BASSIC is returning (finally!!) back to Saturday nights!! We'll be starting on Saturday, September 29th @ Cherry Lounge!! This venue is perfect for us, and we're really looking forward to bringing you back to the days of BASSIC! We'll be featuring all the familiar BASSIC styles (electro, breaks, house, speed garage, techno, progressive, dnb), and will have $2 highballs till 10:30pm! We're finally back!! Don't miss out!!

Also, don't miss out on the next month of Blush Saturdays @ Cherry! I'm not sure if they're moving or moving on to other ventures, but they have had a solid night in Calgary for many years, so come down and support them from now till their last night on the 22nd!

Jan 23rd, 2007 - BASSIC will now be focusing solely on special events and running Breathe Thursdays @ J Bar (1316 33rd St NE). We've had a really good run of 2 and a half years of weekly Saturday club nights, but we feel it is in the best interest of the local scene for us to create more party experiences in unique locations with local, national and international guests. Keep checking back on this site for our special events, as we've got big plans for the next few months!

Sept 25th, 2006 - It's been a long time coming, but BASSIC has finally found a new home after moving on from Lotus. We are now at LimeLight Lounge every Saturday night, starting October 14th! Come join us for $2 highballs before 10:30pm in a beautiful intimate environment that we are very happy to be a part of once again. Hope to see you all there!

February 2nd, 2006 - An AMAZING month last month starting with our New Years show (pics now up in the pictures section), and then Myagi and Dig Dug. Thanks for all your support! We are bringing you some huge names coming up really soon, so keep checking back in the events section and the forums. We have a lot of exciting news to release very shortly, so keep coming back!

November 29th, 2005 - Our New Years show has finally been announced! Go check the forums section for more information! We'll post the flyer in a few days! This is going to be our best show yet, so definitely do not miss out on this one!!

November 24th, 2005 - Check the 'Forums' section for all the news about the theft of Kev's DJ Equipment and Music. If you have any information on it, please don't hesitate to contact us. Also, we're days away from the full announcement of our New Years show! Check the forums for your chance at winning a free ticket to the show!

October 29th, 2005 - Announced our Autobots show! Check it out in the events section! We're going to be releasing details about our huge new years show soon too, so keep checking back! AND some REALLY big news is about to be released very shortly. We're very excited about this, and can't wait to let you guys know about it! It will be announced on this site a few weeks before the general public, so keep your eyes peeled!
